It was finding a Henry Adams quote in Mitch Albom’s Tuesday’s With Morrie that really struck a chord with me:
A teacher affects eternity: he can never tell where his influence stops.
I sometimes paraphrase as “the gifts of learning never stops giving“. This was the spark that led me down this eLearning path. It combines the intrinsic generosity of education, the scope to express creativity and technology’s dynamism provides motivation doing this eLearning gig.
My current role as Learning Designer is reinvigorating my professional career. I’m looking for a strong evidence base for my daily professional work advising academics in how to make effective, engaging learning experiences. Here, the re:learnings blog captures both reflective practice and investigation of issues arising at work.
Your feedback, critique, corrections and suggestions is most welcome. Anything that helps improves the quality of evidence based practice and dispels eLearning myths.
I have much value in reflecting on learnings re learning – I hope you find value here too.
